21st Century Fox
January 20, 2008

Spokane’s PBS affiliate, KSPS, is currently showing a documentary about the rehabilitation of Spokane’s Fox Theater. Equally as impressive as the Davenport Hotel and the Bing Crosby Theater, the Fox has been remade from a 1930s movie house into a state-of-the-art concert and performance art facility. As an added bonus KSPS is showing the documentary in HD for those with the proper setup. Be sure and check the KSPS website for the next available showing (or watch online).
WSU 2008 Focus Week: Design + Politics
January 9, 2008

Look like this years focus week will feature graphic design prominently. Seems as part of the next two days the students will be creating poster that address some aspect of “design and politics using current world events.” Sounds interesting.
The Keynote address will be by Kim Dovey an “Australian architectural critic and professor and head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Melbourne in Australia.” Looks like it’ll be 1:30 p.m. Jan. 10 on the Riverpoint Campus in the Phase I Classroom Building Auditorium, room 122 at 668 N Riverpoint Boulevard, Spokane.
I’ll be at work during at that time but we’d love to hear how it went from any attendess. NPR talked like it might be a gallery exhibit as well. I’ll post more as I find it. For now here’s a bit more information.
